LinkedIn gets even better with Lite App
The first thing that views out with the new app is that, unlike the original app that presented the user with a range, it doesn’t take too long to set up when first launched. The thing is that the options lead to choosing which one you want to use. It is a one-time thing and only appears when you first install the app, but it cannot be enjoyable. The layout of the
The Lite app is modest. The homepage is simple, with a bright color theme and a few sections. Posts have options to like, comment, and share but remain only highlighted with an icon. Categories such as Jobs, Connections, and Profiles stay at the page’s bottom. Again, LinkedIn has simplified it. For example, when accessing a network, connections, pending invites, and suggestions are displayed in a more straightforward layout with smaller images and brighter fonts compared to the original app.
Most Lightweight Apps
Like most lightweight apps, it has a small footprint. The original app installation requires 112MB, but after installation, it only requires 4MB of storage space. A significant advantage of the new app is faster page loading on non-4G networks. Also, like most Lite app variants of other apps, LinkedIn Lite uses less memory. Our tests used 100MB of RAM when active, but the original app’s RAM usage quickly jumped to 200MB. It is excellent for Android devices with 1GB of RAM, and even 100MB of storage memory can make a big difference in user experience.
That claim is even more vital because LinkedIn didn’t sacrifice any significant features to keep the app size down.
Like the original LinkedIn app, you can search for jobs, make new connections, chat with friends, update your profile, and get the latest industry news. Perfect for users who occasionally use memory-hungry devices on slow networks.
